Versatile actress Delnaaz Irani has been part of TV shows like Kabhie Kabhie Ittefaq Se, Yes Boss, and Shararat, and films like The Archies, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Bhoothnath. She says an actor’s life and career are an open book. She stressed that there is no need to feel bad, inferior, or superior. And it’s all just a part of an actor’s life, and they have to take it in their stride.

“In this industry, everything is out there in the open. And you just have to digest the fact that you may have ups and downs as far as your career is concerned. There is nothing to be ashamed of; this is just a part of your journey and not your whole life. Sometimes you may get success, or you may reach greater heights and sometimes not. But you have to take everything positively,” she said.

Delnaaz Irani on career and projects

She takes failure as a part of her career graph and accepts it. “There will be times when you may not be working for a long time or not get a good project, but you have to wait patiently and handle it very positively,” she said.

Delnaaz started acting at a very young age and was among the first few who nailed the girl-next-door image. She has always shown her versatility on screen and has been very different from others.

She said, “Having a very different physical appearance, I knew that I may or may not get enough work. But I still happened to make a mark here, which till today I cannot break. I broke all the barriers by becoming one of the finest actresses who could do comedy since the early 90s. AndI have hung on for almost 30 years. I also dabbled with various platforms —daily soaps, OTT, movies, TVCs.”

Concluding Irani added, “I worship my work. I don’t believe that everything is permanent. Ups and downs will always be there, but I believe in being consistent and relevant. And that’s why I move with the times. Whether it is making a 30 seconds reel for social media or taking up challenging roles. That’s where I score my brownie points.”
